Mar 27, 2006 · Take the pry bar and wedge it in between the pulley and the engine. Be careful not to move the crank from TDC (Top dead center). You will be going counter clockwise to get the bolt off (which is torqued at 159lbs.) So with your breaker bar and the steel pipe, it shouldn't take that much strength to get it off.

The FACE of the bushing (top most in this picture) is installed nearest to the end of the shaft so it is easy to use the jacking bolts and easily remove the pulley. When you have the puller up tight give it a sharp blow with a hammer on the end of the thread, this should jar it slightly, tighten up again and repeat. On ispection, it seems there were two grubscrews, one pinching, then a second locking.
